Jewellery making: simple earrings

The easiest piece to start with if you are new to jewellery making. Remember that you can use any type of beads, the fundamentals remain the same.

Thread on the beads
You will need a couple of headpins. Choose your beads and thread the beads on to the pins to make a design that you like. You may need a tiny stopper bead on first to keep the bigger ones in place.
Cut the pin down to leave about 9mm sticking out from the top of the beads with which to make the loop.

Make the loop
Using Round Nosed Pliers turn the headpin into a neat round loop. You may need to spend a bit of time practicing this bit but you will soon pick up the skill.

Attach the Fitting
Open the loop on the bottom of your earwire, we have used Bali silver earfittings here. Thread your loop onto the Earwire and close the loop with your pliers.
